FISHERS, Ind. -- The Indy Ignite proved once again why they sit atop the Major League Volleyball standings, storming back from a first-set deficit to defeat the defending champion Omaha Supernovas 3-1 on Saturday night at Fishers Event Center. The victory extended Indy's winning streak to six consecutive matches, a new franchise record, and improved their league-best record to 12-2 at the midpoint of the 2026 MLV season.
The set scores of 17-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-13 told the story of a team that found its rhythm after a sluggish start. Omaha came out firing in the opening set, controlling the pace and building an early cushion that Indy could never close. But the Ignite regrouped during the break and came back with a vengeance that the Supernovas simply could not contain.
Outside hitter Anna DeBeer was the catalyst for Indy's turnaround, finishing the night with a team-high 19 points on 13 kills. DeBeer's ability to find gaps in the Omaha block proved decisive, particularly in the second and third sets when the match hung in the balance. Her consistency at the net gave Indy a reliable offensive weapon throughout the evening.
Perhaps the most encouraging performance for the Ignite came from Kayla Lund, who returned from a knee injury to deliver 14 points and 10 digs while posting a remarkable .700 kill rate. Lund's return adds another dangerous dimension to an already potent Indy attack, and her showing on Saturday suggests she has not lost a step during her time on the sideline. Camryn Hannah matched Lund's 14-point output, giving the Ignite three players in double figures.
Setter Mia Tuaniga orchestrated the offense with precision, recording an impressive double-double of 52 assists and 11 digs. Tuaniga's decision-making and distribution kept Omaha's blockers guessing all night, helping the Ignite hit at a sizzling .374 clip as a team. That figure is reportedly the highest hitting percentage the Supernovas have surrendered all season, a testament to just how sharp Indy's offense was after shaking off the first-set cobwebs.
Omaha did not go quietly. Emily Londot paced the Supernovas with a match-high 19 points, matching DeBeer's total and providing flashes of the firepower that carried the club to last season's title. But Londot lacked sufficient support as the match wore on, and the fourth set turned into a dominant display by the Ignite, who pulled away to a 25-13 rout to clinch the victory.
The crowd of 4,483 at Fishers Event Center was treated to a showcase of the league's top team at its resilient best. Indy's ability to absorb an opening-set loss and respond with three consecutive victories speaks to the depth and mental toughness that head coach and staff have built over the course of the season.
With the first half of the MLV season now complete, the Ignite hold a commanding position in the standings. Their 12-2 record sets the pace for the entire league, and the six-match winning streak suggests the team is peaking at exactly the right time. Indy will look to carry that momentum into the second half when they return to Fishers Event Center on Sunday, March 8, to host the Grand Rapids Rise.
